BRITON 1438E Push Pad Panic Latch
The Briton 1438E Push Pad Panic Latch is a surface-mounted emergency exit device designed to provide reliable single-point latching. Ideal for single doors or the active leaf of double rebated doors, this latch disengages instantly when the pad is pushed, ensuring a swift and safe egress in an emergency.
Certified to BS EN 179, this push pad latch is specifically designed for use in low-occupancy, non-public environments - such as offices, factories, and private flats - where occupants are already familiar with the building's escape routes. It features a site-reversible design, allowing it to be easily adapted for either left or right-handed doors during installation.
The Briton 1438E is supplied complete with a comprehensive fixing pack, a door keep plate suitable for both timber and metal doors, and self-adhesive 'Push to Open' signage. For added security and convenience, it can also be paired with an external rim cylinder or outside access device (OAD) to allow authorised entry from the outside.
