ADAMS RITE MS4043 Cylinder Guard

The Adams Rite MS4043 Cylinder Guard is a robust security accessory designed to protect standard screw-in (mortise) cylinders from physical attack and vandalism. Standard brass cylinders can often be a vulnerable point on narrow stile metal doors, leaving them susceptible to being twisted or pried out with tools like pipe wrenches or pliers. The MS4043 addresses this vulnerability with a highly effective defense system.

Constructed from hardened steel, the outer shield ring features a fully bevelled profile. This shape makes it virtually impossible for intruders to obtain a secure grip, even when using sharpened tools or heavy-duty grips. Additionally, when properly installed, the ring is free-swiveling, which further thwarts attempts to twist the cylinder.

On the inside of the door, a heavy-duty steel retainer plate secures the assembly. This plate ensures that even if a prying tool, such as a cold chisel, is driven behind the outer ring, the cylinder cannot be easily levered out. The intruder is forced to try and pull the heavy steel plate through the narrow stile wall - a task far exceeding the capability of standard hand tools.
