Mechanical gate keypad locks
Code access for your outdoor gate
Let the right people through without issuing a key to everyone. Start with your gate material, then choose whether you need a code on one side or both. These mechanical locks need no batteries or wiring.
Four ways to secure your gate
A focused Borg shortlist for outdoor gates. Each option links straight to its product, fitting information and ordering controls.
Metal gate · keypad outside, handle inside
For metal box-section gates: anti-climb knob keypad with an inside paddle handle and optional holdback. Standard fixings suit 30–60mm profiles; check the latch reach and gate gap.
Borg BL3100 ECP
Metal gate · code on both sides
Back-to-back anti-climb knob keypads for metal gates where entry and exit both need a code. Check your escape requirements before choosing a keypad on the inside.
Borg BL3130 ECP
Metal gate · keypad with key override
An outside keypad and inside handle, with a key override in the locking assembly. Check the handed variant against the way your gate opens before ordering.
Borg BL3100DKO ECP
Timber gate · keypad with inside handle
For timber external applications up to 80mm thick, with a 60mm stainless-steel latch, Marine Grade Pro finish and optional holdback. Check there is enough solid timber for the latch and fixings.

Check these before choosing a lock
Gate material and measurements
Measure the metal box section or timber thickness, the gap to the closing post and the space for the lockcase. Use the product drawing to check fixing positions, latch reach and clearance.
Entry and exit
An inside handle gives a different exit arrangement from an inside keypad. If the gate is on an escape route, have the required escape hardware confirmed before choosing; code access alone does not establish suitability.
Outdoor exposure
The shortlist uses models described for external gate use. Check the exact product finish and maintenance guidance for your location, especially exposed or coastal sites. Outdoor suitability is model-specific.
Override, handing and holdback
Key override is included only on the selected DKO model. Check left/right handing where offered. Holdback keeps a latch retracted, so decide whether that is appropriate for your gate.

Before you order
Do these locks need power?
No. The selected locks use a mechanical keypad, so no batteries or electrical supply are needed for their code operation.
Can I use any outdoor door keypad on a gate?
Choose for the whole installation. Gate material, lockcase, latch reach, closing gap and exposure all matter. The metal gate models here have a dedicated gate lockcase; the timber option uses a different fitting.
Can people reach through the gate to the inside handle?
Check the gate infill and whether someone could reach the inside release from outside. Discuss guarding or an alternative exit arrangement with your installer, alongside any escape requirements.
Can you help check the fit?
Yes. Contact our team with photos of both sides of the gate, the closing post, gate thickness, gap and the access arrangement you need. Do not send your access code.
Not sure which gate lock fits?
Tell us the gate material, thickness, closing gap and whether you need code access on one or both sides. Photos of the gate and post help us check a suitable option.
