Burton Safes
Burton Safes is a Yorkshire-rooted UK security manufacturer/supplier best known for safes, vaults and high-security physical storage, serving the locksmith, trade, commercial and banking markets. The business was founded in 1990 in Kirkburton (near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire)—famously starting with the founder Norman Berry selling safes from his garage, initially supplying churches and the locksmith trade.
Over time Burton expanded from domestic and small commercial safes into a broader “physical security solutions” portfolio including certified safes, vaults/strong rooms, security doors, safe deposit boxes, and ATM-related security, with a consistent emphasis on independent testing and certification to UK/European standards.
In January 2020, Burton Safes acquired/merged with the Leeds-based Safe & Vault group, forming what they described as Yorkshire’s largest specialist security company, with Burton acting as a key distribution arm and Safe & Vault providing installation/engineering/service capability.
They also highlight industry participation and credentials: Burton states it’s part of The Trusted Security Group, and notes memberships/engagement with bodies such as Eurosafe UK (founder member), ESSA, and the police-backed Secured by Design initiative (among others).
